Anti Bullying week 16/11/20 - 20/11/20
As part of Anti bullying week, Year 5/6 have been looking at Paul Jenkins poem, 'Why?'
The children thought how about this poem affected them and discussed how people who are being bullied would be feeling. They then highlighted sections which they may have experienced themselves or witnessed happening to others. Following this, they tried to recall how these incidents had made them (or other people) feel and how we should choose to show respect to each other instead.
We wrote about how we should make people feel within our class and school and then wrote statements about what we choose to do in the future to ensure we are 'United Against Bullying'.
Odd socks day
On 17/11/20, we wore odd socks as part of anti-bullying week.
As part of our homework, we created anti-bullying posters to make others aware what is bullying and what can we do to stop this.
As part of our DT , we had to plan on how we are going to make a brooch. We had to practise stitching using boards and then use a needle thread.
We created our chosen design and then made our product and finished by evaluating our brooches.
Check out some o f the brooches below.
On 8th December, we had a digital workshop with Royal museum of Greenwich. Our topic was Earth, Sun and moon. The lesson discussed each of these with activities to do in class, finishing off with a Q&A with a real astronomer!
