Autumn 1

Learning Letter Autumn 1

We have really enjoyed our learning in our role play area, 'Asda'. We couldn't go for a visit to the supermarket so our teachers brought Asda to us! We have been working together and learning about the jobs people do in the supermarket and have used it to enhance our Maths learning. We have been learning about money, place value and addition.

We would like to thank 'Asda Hyde' for helping our teachers to set up the role play area by donating the signs and price labels that made our role play more realistic.

Thank You Asda!

The Lonely Beast by Chris Judge. Read by Eloise and Milo.

The Lonely Beast by Chris Judge read and edited by Eloise (9) and Milo (5)

We have been learning all about the story of The Lonely Beast. We acted out the story, took part in a story whoosh and worked in pairs to 'mould' each other into the character. We then made a story map, wrote a character description and our own version of the story. We talked about how the Lonely Beast must have felt and how we would feel if we were lonely and unloved, with no friends. We made some beasts of our own with Salt dough and made some stick puppets to retell the story. We have enjoyed learning about Thee Lonely beast.
